Led by Dr. Jessica Erickson, DMFT, LPC-S, LCDC—an Army Veteran and Navy spouse—our collaborative team of licensed clinicians, associates, and master’s-level interns provides trauma-informed care that’s especially welcoming to veterans, service members, and first responders. We blend evidence-based approaches (CBT/DBT-informed, solution-focused, person-centered) with integrative options like animal-assisted therapy and expressive arts, including glass working, to help you rebuild skills, confidence, and connection.

We’ll walk with you at your pace, co-create goals that matter, and practice practical tools you can use between sessions. With affordable, reduced-fee options and immediate availability through our supervised interns, getting compassionate, effective care is simpler than you think.

Dr. Jessica Erickson, DMFT, LPC-S, LCDC

Dr. Jessica Erickson is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas with over a decade of clinical and supervisory experience in nonprofit, private practice, and community-based settings. She is an Army Veteran and Navy spouse, bringing both professional and lived experience to her work supervising clinicians who serve high-intensity populations.

Dr. Erickson specializes in the development of competent, ethical, and sustainable clinicians, with particular focus on work with veterans, military families, first responders, athletes, and healthcare professionals. Her supervisory approach emphasizes developmental progression, nervous-system literacy, ethical decision-making under clinical load, and the prevention of burnout and impairment.

She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University, an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University, and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT) from National University. She is trauma-trained and also licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).

In addition to traditional supervision, Dr. Erickson integrates regulation-informed and experiential approaches, including animal-assisted and expressive modalities, to support clinician growth, self-awareness, and professional identity formation. Her doctoral research explored the use of glass-working as a therapeutic process to restore voice, confidence, and meaning, particularly among veterans.

Dr. Erickson is the founder of Hearts and Minds Counseling and provides CE trainings, supervisor education, and consultation focused on building resilient clinicians and supervision systems that move beyond compliance toward true competence and longevity in the field.
